In the Works: Tis the Season

2016-10-30-11-57-07-1

Since I just started making soap at the beginning of this year, I missed the opportunity to create holiday soaps last Christmas.  After much consideration as to what to do this year – which scents?, how many soaps?, any bath bombs?, sell separately or as a set? – this is what has been decided: 3 half bars of soap and 3 bath bombs(one of each fragrance) sold together in a boxed set.  There will be 20 sets available for $20 each.  All soaps and bath bombs will be gift wrapped individually and then packed into gift boxes with crinkle paper.  Once all supplies come in I’ll be able to put one together as a preview – it’ll be really festive!  These can be shipped directly to a recipient or to the person buying…all of the shipping info will come at a later date.

The bath bombs have not yet been made, but they’ll be Peppermint, Ginger Patchouli, and Apple Sage.  I’ve finished the soaps because they need time to cure.  Everything will be ready and up for sale the week of Thanksgiving.  So let me tell you about the soaps!

Winter Gardenia

I would say that the scent descriptions on Brambleberry are pretty accurate, so I’ll include them all here.  “In this fragrance, top notes of hyacinth and lily are perfectly matched with sweet floral notes of gardenia and jasmine. The base notes of lilac and peppermint make this a great fragrance for the holidays. It gives all your projects a refreshing floral scent!”  In all honesty, this smells like a flower dripping in peppermint.  I don’t mean that in a bad way, I love this fragrance.  It’s not too floral, and it’s not overpoweringly minty.  It’s a perfect balance.

Fresh Snow

“This fragrance is designed to mimic the feeling of peace and tranquility after a fresh snowfall. It is a very ozone-y fragrance, reminiscent of clean laundry or fresh cotton. The actual notes however are intriguing; this fragrance has a crisp heliotrope top with supporting notes of spring water, juniper berry, vetyver and sandalwood.”  This does have a fresh scent, and it’s kind of sweet.  If I smell it for too long it starts to smell like candy to me, but I love it.

Sugar Plum Fairy

“This fragrance is a sweet, candy-like fragrance that smells like a jelly bean. With notes of Tangerine, juicy peach, lemon drop and cotton candy, this is fragrance is a huge crowd pleaser if you’re under the age of 16.”  Well I’m way older than 16, but this is the first fragrance that made me want to eat my soap.  It smells EXACTLY like a big bag of jelly beans.
